Liner of the Compagnie des Iles du Ponant
The practice of Flahault Design & Associates was engaged to oversee the renovation of the liner “Le Diamant”, recently acquired by the owner, la Compagnie des Iles du Ponant, Nantes, and the tour operator Tapis Rouge Cruises.

This four-star ship, sailing under the French flag, with 113 cabins, will be able to accommodate 226 passengers and a qualified crew of 120.
The general tone of the passenger areas, though still inspired by the well-known “French good taste”, will prove slightly different to that of the Ponant and particularly the Levant, in which all the cabins also bear the hallmarks of Flahault Design & Associates.
Here, the decoration has more spice and colour, with moquettes, silks, velours and braids inspired by dreams or the grandest nights of the past.

Mahogany and wild cherry will now replace the veneers of the past, while the new or re-worked furnishings, bringing together hangings and varnished wooden floors, will put Le Diamant into a class of its own, laden with promises, dreams and emotions.
The work began at the end of February, and will be finished by next May. After a planned inaugural cruise from Nice, Le Diamant will set sail for Northern Europe and Greenland.
